Today we conducted the initial blower door test at the Kamp Kaolin project. Kamp Kaolin’s design influenced by Passive House principles and building science made the team excited and confident for the test. First David Berg (pictured right) of DSB Energy Services and Hugh Lofting (left) installed the blower test frame in a window because the door openings were too large for the frame.
Kamp Kaolin achieved 0.88 air changes per hour (ACH) at 50 Pascal, which is very good! Our team is striving to achieve the Passive House standard of 0.6 ACH at 50 Pascal. After the home’s dense-packed cellulose insulation and drywall are installed, our Kamp Kaolin blower door test score should attain that goal.
