In May 1994, Philadelphia Inquirer writer Gene Austin described the art and craft of timber-framing. The article “Old-fashioned craft enjoys a renaissance” describes a timber-framed addition to the home of Mark Dresden. Hugh Lofting designed and built the project. He’s heralded in the article as “one of the area’s first modern-era timber framers.”
